Overview of BudgetInMind for iPad, the double-entry personal financial software for individuals.
The first time you open BudgetInMind, you are redirected to the file manager, that allows you to create, open and manage your documents. At every launch, BudgetInMind will try to open the last file you operated on.
Click on any file to open the document.
BudgetInMind for iPad contains 5 tabs: Book, Account, Budget, Trading and Structure.
Each view adapts to your current device orientation, to maximize and optimize the view function of the available viewport. Please note that some parameters are activated only after purchasing a given module, such as the multiple user, multiple currency or trading modules. In this video, we activated all the optional modules.
The Book tab, is the place to enter all your transactions. You will enter revenue, expenses and any other accounting operation in this view.
All tabs are designed following the same UI principles, with a toolbar at the top to quickly alter the current view or execute a given action.
For instance, you can:
- Hide or Show the left column in the Book and Account tabs.
- Manage specific view-related tasks through the action button
- Quickly filter your view using the quick select buttons
The action button, is the command center for most of your actions. It contains 3 categories:
- The View category changes for each tab. It controls the view rendering and gather specific actions.
- The Profile category managed users, years, currencies and bank institutions. You can also close the currently opened document from this section.
- The Search category contains monthly and textual filters to reduce what you see
The Account tab, will present each account in details, including the various balances. You can view any account, being a bank or another type of account. You can view your data in graphics, see the balance summary and switch from an account to another in one touch.
The Budget tab is very important, since it contains your forecast, your budget, and is the place where you can analyze your spending. A graphic section helps to see trends visually.
The Trading tab, activated upon purchase of the inApp feature, gathers all the analytics of your financial investments, such as stocks, RSU, 401K, etc.
Finally, the Structure tab is the place to manage your account structure as well as your trading structure. It’s in this tab that you can add, delete or modify your accounts.
We will present in separate videos each tab in greater details, so do not hesitate to view them.
